Girl moderately hurt by Molotov cocktail in West Bank

Girl, 16, injured while travelling on bus in South Mount Hebron, evacuated to Beersheba hospital. Some 150 people gather at site of Thursday's shooting attack for prayer in memory of Rabbi Meir Hai

A 16-year-old Israeli girl was moderately injured Sunday evening by a Molotov cocktail hurled at a bus she was travelling on in South Mount Hebron.

The incident took place near the West Bank settlement of Negohot. The teen received initial medical care on the site and was later evacuated to the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba. The bus sustained damage.

Tzviki Bar-Hai, head of the South Mount Hebron Regional Council, told Ynet following the girl's injury that the recent incidents were the result of the removal of roadblocks. "Following a High Court order, and against the IDF's opinion, they are about to open the Negohot road to Arab traffic. I call on the defense minister to prevent the move. When the IDF says it's dangerous for out security, we must first of all worry about the citizen's safety."

At the same time, some 150 residents of West Bank settlements, including Shavei Shomron and Kedumim, gathered at the place where Rabbi Meir Avshalom Hai was murdered in a shooting attack last Thursday. They began praying in his memory and were also planning to hold a Torah lesson. Police forces were present in the area.

Earlier Sunday, Palestinian hurled stones at Israeli vehicles in two separate incidents, southwest of Bethlehem and southeast of Nablus. There were no reports of injuries in both incidents, but the vehicles sustained damage.

A 14-year-old boy from the settlement of Yitzhar underwent surgery on Friday after being injured from stones hurled by Palestinians. He was said to be in moderate condition.
