The tent on Alon road
Settlers set up tent near outpost
In attempt to get around construction freeze, large tent set up near Mitzpe Hagit outpost. Tent so far uninhabited, but Binyamin Settlers' Committee spokesman says 'there will be more surprises, outposts must be build quickly, young couples will move in'
Construction freeze? Setters continue to come up with new ways to hold on to the land. After Ynet reported on a carpenter's shed set up in the archaeological garden near Susiya in South Mount Hebron in order to help in the construction of outposts, and after the "Givat Menachem Kibbutz" was established near Binyamin, settlers have found a new way to build outposts – using large tents similar to those used in the military.
Ynet has learned that in recent days, such a tent, that can hold 24 people, was set up on Alon road, some 300 meters west of the entrance to the Mitzpe Hagit outpost in Binyamin.
The tent is currently uninhabited and the IDF said it does not belong to the military. The Civil Administration said in response, "The matter is known to us and will be handled by the enforcement bodies."

Settlers 'operate in many diverse ways'. The tent
A source from the Left who follows construction in settlements told Ynet, "It seems we are back in the 70s, when settlements were built under direct military patronage. The continued land grabbing goes on under the auspices of the IDF which not only fails to do its job with regards to outpost evacuation, but also donates IDF equipment to the settlers."
Spokesman for the Binyamin Settlers Committee Itzik Shadmi told Ynet in response: "We operate in many diverse ways. There will be more surprises – tents, sheds, cheap structures. Outposts must be built quickly, and God willing, young couples will move in. We will set up tents and we will build outposts because this is the response to the freeze.
"It can't be that all the communities are completely frozen. This is certainly racism, the freeze is just for Jews, and Arabs are building like crazy."
