December sees 4% drop in applications for unemployment benefits
There has been a 4% drop in the number of unemployed workers who have filed for unemployment benefits, National Insurance Institute data indicates. December saw 15,400 such applications, compared to 16,000 in November.
The NII report further noted that the drop reflects a general trend which applies for the second half of 2009. (Yael Branovsky)
