Former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert claimed in his response to the indictment against him that businessman Moshe Talansky's participation in the expenses of overseas functions was made in the "customary fashion."
Olmert's attorneys claimed that their client regarded his participation in the events organized by Talansky with great importance and with the aim of promoting the ends of Jewish Diaspora bodies and help them raise funds – "which was routinely done." (Ronen Medzini)
