Elements in the Labor party slammed the decision of the Knesset's Ethics Committee regarding the plane tickets' upgrade of Labor Chairman Ehud Barak and his wife on his way to the Paris Air Show, and defined it "puzzling and bordering on hypocrisy."
"For years former prime ministers and senior officials including Shamir, Rabin, Peres, Sharon, Netanyahu, Barak and Olmert received occasional upgrades in El Al flights and if there was a decision to change the protocol – it should not be done on anyone's back in the purpose of politically attacking him and harming his image," a statement on behalf of the party read.
