Gang suspected of kidnapping torturing African refugees
The police have uncovered a gang which kidnapped African refugees making their way to Israel in order to demand a ransom from their relatives in Israel in exchange for their release.
A police investigation revealed that a hostage who could not pay the demanded sum of money was tortured in special camps set up on the Egyptian side of the border. Many of the torture incidents resulted in harsh serious injuries or death. (Eli Senyor)
