Italy awaits EU decision on Yemen later this week

Italy says it's waiting for Europe to take a unified response to the al-Qaida threat in Yemen before deciding whether to close its embassy there as other countries have done.

France and the Czech Republic joined the US and Britain in closing their embassies in the Yemeni capital in response to threats of attack by an al-Qaida offshoot. (AP)
