Brazil's FM: We'll establish contacts with Hamas if it helps talks
Brazil's Foreign Minister Celson Amorim said his country will not rule out the possibility of establishing direct contact with Hamas, if this will help advance a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
"In the past we had unofficial contacts with Hamas, but if it can help, we would consider contacts at my level too," he said to his Palestinian counterpart Riyad al-Maliki during a meeting in Geneva. He added that if such contacts were to be made, the Palestinian Authority would be the first to know about it. (AFP)
