The Prime Minister's office and the Tnufa Directorate announced that they have finalized the community relocation agreements of Gush Katif evacuees.
According to the announcement, authorities have also drafted an agreement regarding compensation for business owners and set measures aimed at accelerating construction of permanent homes for the evacuees.
However, the announcement notes that no agreements were struck with the two local authorities (out of 23) slated to receive the new residents.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lauded the progress made on the evacuee front, saying it rectifies previous injustices.
"The government under my leadership designated the handling of our evacuated brothers as a national and moral mission of the highest order," he said. "Our objective is to soon bring the families and children, who have experienced terrible difficulties in the past four and a half years, to permanent homes and correct the injustice done to them."
The latest agreements pertain to the relocation of the last four communities of the 23 communities removed from Gush Katif in accordance with the 2005 disengagement plan.
