Gush Katif evacuees: Still work to be done
The Gush Katif settlers' committee announced its welcoming of the agreements reached regarding the governmental handling of the evacuees but stressed that "unfortunately we have only made it half way through."
The Prime Minister's Office together with the Tnufa Directorate announced over the weekend the finalization of various issues regarding the evacuees. The committee noted there were three major obstacles to relocating the evacuees: A solution to farmers' status, solution of the evacuees' economic distress, and expediting construction of new communities.
