A representative of the Transportation Ministry said during a discussion in the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Subcommittee that Route 1, which connects between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, would likely "collapse" if drivers do not feel safe traveling on Route 443 as a secure alternative.
