Transportation Ministry: Route 1 will collapse without security on Route 443
A representative of the Transportation Ministry said during a discussion in the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Subcommittee that Route 1, which connects between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, would likely "collapse" if drivers do not feel safe traveling on Route 443 as a secure alternative.
"During rush our, everyone who lives in Jerusalem will not be able to get on the road," said the representative. "This means the total collapse of Route 1. (Amnon Meranda)
