An Iranian parliamentary probe has found the former Tehran prosecutor responsible for the deaths of three anti-government protesters in the turmoil following the disputed June elections.
Spokesman for the probe, Kazem Jalali, said Sunday that the death of the three was caused "four days in custody suffering from beatings without proper food and water." The then-Tehran prosecutor Saeed Mortazavi, who was responsible for the prison where the deaths occurred, claimed at the time the detainees died due to meningitis. (AP)
