Initial report: MK Naffaa requests immunity from Knesset speaker
Member of Knesset Said Naffaa (Balad) submitted a request to Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin and Knesset House Committee Chairman Yariv Levin for parliamentary immunity regarding the indictment issued against him.
Attorney General Menachem Mazuz decided to indict Naffaa for contact with a foreign agent after he met in Syria with Deputy Director General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine Talal Naj. Naffaa wrote, "I deny the charges made against me in the indictment, but I have legal protection according to the law regarding them." (Amnon Meranda)
