Drive-by shooting: Man killed in broad daylight
Two on motorcycle fire at vehicle stopped at traffic light in Bat Yam; second occupant wounded, hospitalized. Witness: There was a lot of blood
One man was killed and another wounded Monday when a car was sprayed with bullets on Bat Yam's Rav Maimon Street.
Two unidentified motorcycle riders passed the vehicle which had stopped at a traffic light, it seems, and opened fire. Mor Elgrabli, 21, from Holon, was seriously wounded. Resuscitation efforts failed and he was pronounced dead. Another man was hospitalized.
Police said that both men were known criminals. Ayalon Sub-District Police began searching for the motorcyclists in the area, with assistance from a helicopter.

A witness said, "We heard a noise and didn't understand what had happened at first, then we saw the people in the car. There was a lot of blood."
The family of the murder victim, who live close by, had been sitting shiva (mourning period) for another family member. They rushed to the scene, and the victim's mother collapsed on the sidewalk.

Zakhi Heller, Magen David Adom's operations spokesman, said that the man killed received a number of shots in the chest, adding that the second man got one bullet in the chest and was taken to the Sourasky Medical Center in Tel Aviv.
Sima, a resident of Anna Frank Street in Bat Yam, said that at the time her husband was on his way home, and saw the shooting. "He said he saw two people on a motorcycle pass and simply shoot at someone in the street. He then saw him lying in the road. It didn't sound like a targeted killing."
She added, "Crime comes very close, right up to our house. It's terrifying. There are kids in the area. This isn't an industrial zone or something, it's right in the center of the town."
