Palestinian who murdered wife gets life sentence
The Tel Aviv District Court has sentenced Iad Shami, an illegal Palestinian alien who was convicted of kidnapping and murdering his wife, to a life sentence and an additional five years in prison. He was also convicted of kidnapping his wife's girlfriend.
The two were kidnapped by Shami in July 2007 following the couple's breakup and a custody battle for their son. The wife's body was found several days later while her friend managed to escape. (Vered Luvitch)
