Turkey demands apology, explanation for Ayalon's behavior
Turkey is demanding an official apology from Israel as well as an explanation for the conduct of Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon, who summoned Turkish Ambassador Ahmet Oguz Celikkol to his office to receive an official reprimand Monday.
A Foreign Ministry statement says Israel's ambassador to Turkey, Gabi Levy, was required to provide the explanation. "We hope that the Israeli Foreign Ministry, which has assumed an undiplomatic attitude in its statements, will comply with diplomatic courtesy rules," a statement from Ankara says. (Ynet)
