Haiti quake: Israel Police prepares to offer forensic assistance

Internal Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch has instructed the police to set up a special forensics unit to be ready to depart for Haiti and offer its assistance there in body identification.
The minister has also instructed the police to be ready to send forces to help maintain public order, should the Haitian authorities seek such services. Aharonovitch noted that the steps were made in full coordination with the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. (Efrat Weiss)
