Herzl's birthday to be Independence Day theme

The Ministerial Committee for Symbols and Ceremonies on Wednesday approved Chairman Stas Misezhnikov's proposal that the theme for this year's Independence Day be: "If you will it, it is no dream – Achievements of the State of Israel on the 150th anniversary of the birth of Herzl."
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was behind the initiative to place Herzl's birthday at the center of the celebrations, and the proposal was approved after a heated debate last week and an additional debate on Wednesday. (Roni Sofer)
