MK Zahalka: Salah's sentence - political persecution
None
Balad Chairman Jamal Zahalka commented on the sentence issued to Sheikh Raed Salah, leader of the Islamist Movement's northern branch and said, "It's a political decision derived fron political revenge and aimed at political persecution."
He further noted, "By deciding so, the court has become a pawn at the hands of the Shin Bet and the police. The police are out to get the Arab public and its leaders, and do anything to violate the basic right of protest. It's an offence to the entire Arab public." (Sharon Roffe-Ofir)
