Hamas government in the Gaza Strip denounced Israel's decision to imprison the leader of the northern branch of the Islamic Movement Sheikh Raed Salah.
"The decision was made because of the sheikh's activity against the settlers' attempt to take over al-Aqsa mosque," read a statement published by Hamas. The movement also called on Arab Israeli citizens to visit the mosque more frequently. (Ali Waked)
