Ayalon: Apology to Turkey sent following Peres' request

Following Israel's apology to Turkey, Deputy Foreign Minister Daniel Ayalon's office said that "following a request by President Shimon Peres and out of respect for him, the deputy minister sent a letter to the Turkish ambassador.
"The letter said that any differences between the nations should be resolved in an amicable, respectable manner," added the statement. Ayalon reportedly added that he has no intention to humiliate the ambassador and that he regrets that his protest was misrepresented . (Roni Sofer)
