Germany: Dutchman to testify in Nazi murder trial

The only known living accomplice of a former member of the Nazi SS accused of three counts of murder is taking the stand at his trial. Dutchman Jacobus Petrus Besteman will testify Friday by video link in the case against Heinrich Boere. Besteman served jail time after World War II in Holland for his wartime activities.
The 88-year-old Boere admitted in the Aachen state court trial in December that he was involved in the 1944 killing of three Dutch civilians as a member of a Waffen SS hit squad. He said that in one case he and Besteman both fired the fatal shots. (AP)
