Iran: Opposition SMS, internet monitored by regime
None
Iran's chief of police, General Ismail Ahmadi-Moghaddam, has warned that anyone who sends SMS messages or emails in order to organize protests against the regime will be severely punished by the police and courts.
The authorities are keeping track of the internet and cellular networks, he said, and even if young people use proxy servers, their identities will still be discovered. He added that anyone continuing to send such messages is committing a serious crime. (Dudi Cohen)
