Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah met in Lebanon on Saturday with a delegation of senior Hamas figures, including politburo chief Khaled Mashaal.

According to Hezbollah's Al Manar television network, the discussion centered on "Arab incompetence in the face of the Israeli threat," as well as on the situation in Lebanon and the Palestinian issue.

The report said the Hamas delegation also included Mashaal's deputy Moussa Abu Marzouk, senior Hamas representative in Lebanon Osama Hamdan and Mohammed Nasr, also a member of Hamas' politburo.
A statement released after the meeting said, "The diplomatic activity aimed at resuming (peace) negotiations is based on conditions presented by Israel.
"This underscores the futility of the official Arab stance in the face of the Israeli dangers and American pressure," read the statement.
The participants agreed on the need to boost Lebanese-Palestinian relations.
