Report: Mashaal to visit Cairo this week

Hamas' politburo chief, Khaled Mashaal, is scheduled to visit Cairo this week, the Qatari Al-Sharq reported. The aim of his visit is apparently to apologize to authorities about the killing of an Egyptian soldier by a Hamas gunman two weeks ago.
The report says Mashaal is scheduled to meet with Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul-Gheit and Egypt's intelligence chief, Omar Suleiman, to discuss a deal for kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit and Palestinian inter-faction peace talks. (Roee Nahmias)
