Agriculture Minister Shalom Simhon has called to halt fishing in Lake Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) for a two-year period, saying continued fishing could lead to an ecological disaster.
Simhon asked Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz to allocate NIS 15 million (about $4 million) towards compensating fishermen in the Kinneret. (Sharon Roffe-Ofir)
