Tourism Minister Stas Misezhnikov (Yisrael Beitenu) shook hands Wednesday with an Iranian representative at the Fitur International Tourism Trade Fair in Madrid, Spain.

The Iranian, an official representative of the Islamic Republic's Tourism Ministry, invited Misezhnikov to visit the cities of Shiraz and Isfahan.

"We have wonderful nature reserves and cultural sites; you are welcome to come and visit," the Iranian, who is in charge of Iran's stall at the fair, told the Israeli minister.

Misezhnikov responded, "I believe the day will come when an Israeli minister, as well as Israeli citizens, will be able to visit and enjoy Iran."

However, representatives manning the Syrian stall completely ignored the Israeli delegation.

The Israeli minister also visited the Jordanian, Palestinian, Moroccan and Egyptian stations.

At the Palestinian stall, Misezhnikov discussed future cooperation with the director-general of the Palestinian tourism ministry.
