Pakistani officials say army helicopters have opened fire on a car traveling in the al-Qaeda stronghold of North Waziristan close to the Afghan border, killing one man and wounding two others.
The intelligence officials said the attack Friday on the outskirts of Miran Shah town was carried out because the car was violating a curfew. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to media.
