Government approves draft bill against illegal aliens

None

The government has approved the drafting of a bill against illegal aliens in Israel that will be used against infiltrators and illegal migrant workers. The bill defines offences by employers, those who transport illegal aliens and those who grant them shelter, among other offences.

According to the proposal submitted by Internal Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch, the law will replace standing orders which have guided government action till now. Aharonovitch lauded the decision to approve the draft and said the proposal would now be prepared for the Knesset, so that it could be adopted by the time current standing orders expire in March.
