The summer of 2010 is gearing up to be a memorable one in terms of major artist performances. After confirmations from the Pixies, Elton John, Rod Steward and metal band Metallica, it appears folk legend Bob Dylan will also be arriving to the Holy land for a show on May 27 in the Yarkon park in Tel Aviv.

However, fans of the Dave Mathews Band, which announced its expected arrival to Israel last month for two intimate shows, will unfortunately be disappointed as the group canceled their dates over apparent logistic difficulties.

The Pillbox company issued a statement which noted that the band members will not be able to accommodate a show in Israel in their current tour and promised to notify of any future changes.

Israeli producers have been trying to secure a Dylan performance in the Holy Land for some years now and the man behind the current initiative is veteran producer Shuki Weiss.

However, the public relations firm representing Weiss refused to comment on the report.
