Ahmadinejad praises Mauritania for cutting ties with Israel

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad met with the leader of the Mauritanian junta, Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, and commended him for breaking diplomatic ties with Israel. The Iranian president said it was a step "of significant value, which should set an example for the rest of the Islamic countries".
Mauritania, in west Africa, cut its ties with Israel and banished its Israeli ambassador because of Operation Cast Lead, which took place in Gaza last year. (Dudi Cohen)
