Radical Islamist shot at in Oslo home

Several shots were fired into the Oslo home of radical Islamist Mullah Krekar early on Monday, wounding his son-in-law, Norwegian police said.

Krekar, an Iraqi Kurd who once led the Ansar al-Islam militant group, was found to pose a security risk by a Norwegian court in 2007. But Norway says it cannot deport him to Iraq without guarantees that he will not face the death penalty. (Reuters)
