US sends Uzbek from Guantanamo prison to Switzerland

An Uzbek detainee held at the US military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba has been sent to Switzerland, the US Justice Department said on Tuesday.

The transfer was the latest prisoner removed from the facility as the Obama administration seeks to close the controversial prison for foreign terrorism suspects. (Reuters)
