Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said Israel is a danger to the Middle East and that it would disappear someday, the Fars news agency reported.
"The day must come in which the peoples of the region will witness the disappearance of the Zionist regime. The timing depends on the actions of the Islamic nations and Muslim peoples," he said during a meeting with the leader of Mauritania's junta, Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, after commending him for severing diplomatic ties with Israel.
