Herzog: Israel should consider easing Gaza blockade if Shalit is released

Welfare and Social Services Minister Isaac Herzog said that in his opinion Israel "should consider relief measures in the Gaza blockade should Gilad Shalit be released and in case the aid won't serve Hamas's terror."
During a meeing with Palestinian academics and diplomats in east Jerusalem, the minister stressed that he is not speaking on behalf of the Israeli government. "Bolstering an economic alternative to Hamas through the Palestinian Authoroty could change matters." (Roni Sofer)
