White House lists proposed cuts in 2011 budget

President Barack Obama's administration will propose on Monday some 120 items that can be eliminated or changed in the fiscal 2011 budget to help save $20 billion this year, the White House said in a statement on Saturday.

The changes would include consolidating programs at the Department of Education and eliminating the "Advanced Earned Income Tax Credit," which the White House described as ineffective. (Reuters)
