Truck driver rushing towards checkpoint shot by troops
An Israeli truck driver was moderately injured by soldiers guarding the Qalandia checkpoint in the West Bank, who shot him when he refused to slow down upon nearing them.
A preliminary investigation has revealed that Palestinians threw stones at the truck as it traveled near the Qalandia refugee camp, scaring the driver into attempting to escape quickly to the other side of the checkpoint. The troops fired at him out of fear that he was planning on committing a terror attack. He was evacuated to the hospital in Jerusalem. (Efrat Weiss and Ronen Medzini)
