Shalom: Fayyad looks like he wants to replace Abbas

Vice Prime Minister Silvan Shalom verbally accosted Palestinian Prime Minsiter Salam Fayyad at the Herzliya Conference taking place at the Interdisciplinary Center: "Fayyad has recently been behaving like a politician who wants to replace Abu Mazen (Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas) the day after he leaves."

"He perhaps would like to receive the support of Fatah activists the day after, and therefore apparently is not willing to continue talks with the Israelis. I met him many times, and he truly seems like someone interested in peace. But recently he is very withdrawn," said Shalom. (Roni Sofer)
