Navy raises alertness following attempted attack in south
Navy ships patrolling in southern Israel were instructed to raise alertness and take measures to foil any possible terrorist attack, following explosions heard on Friday and the uncovering of two explosive devices in the sea near Ashdod and Ashkelon earlier Monday.
A military source told Ynet that they are operating under the assumption that terror organizations have the ability to carry out a naval attack using various weapons smuggled via the tunnels in the Philadelphi route and with the help of Iranian elements. (Hanan Greenberg)
