Report: Hamas official says Shalit talks halted over assassination
A senior Hamas official said that the Islamist movement has decided to halt negotiations on the prisoner exchange deal for the release of Gilad Shalit in response to the assassination of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, a Hamas official in Dubai.
The official told the Saudi newspaper Okaz that the talks have been temporarily halted and that negotiations are undergoing a negative turn. He blamed Israel for the negotiations' failure. (Roee Nahmias)
