A Qassam rocket fell in an open area in Eshkol Regional Council Tuesday afternoon. There were no reports of injury or damage.
Around 3 pm, a Color Red siren sounded, and shortly afterwards, residents heard a loud blast.
Terror organizations in Gaza have claimed a step up in their attempt to harm Israel, and on Monday police dismantled two explosive devices hidden in barrels, which had washed up on the southern beaches.
On Monday a senior member in one of the Palestinian organizations confirmed that the two explosive devices, each weighing about 80 kg, were meant to be used in a future terror attack on an oil rig in the south.
