Peres: Hamas is true enemy of Palestinians
President Shimon Peres said that Hamas is the enemy of the Palestinians, and not Israel. In his speech at the Herzliya Conference, Peres called upon the Palestinians to fight Hamas, which he deemed "the destructive enemy of Egypt, Jordan, and the Palestinians."
On the issue of negotiations with the Palestinians, Peres said, "There is no other choice but to normalize relations so that terrorism does not dictate our fate. We are helping them, removing checkpoints. For the first time, they are building a new city." (Attila Somfalvi)
