Shin Bet: Increase in shooting incidents, terror attacks in January
January saw a significant increase in the number of terrorist attacks and shooting incidents in Israeli territory, up to 80 from 51 in December 2009, according to figures collected by the Shin Bet.
The data shows a significant increase in the number of mortar shell shootings from the Gaza Strip. In January, 28 mortar shells were fired, versus just three the previous month. (Hanan Greenberg)
