A Yemeni official says the government has sent northern rebels a framework for a cease-fire agreement that would end the six-year revolt.
Yemen has come under international pressure to quickly end the conflict to free up resources to confront a separate threat from an al-Qaeda offshoot in the country. Presidential adviser Abdel-Karim al-Iryani said Saturday a mediator presented the rebels with the proposal. He said the war would end if the militants accept it. (AP)
