Public Security Ministry to recruit Druze to police force
The Public Security Ministry has launched a campaign aimed at recruiting members of the Druze sector to the security forces as part of an affirmative action program.
Internal Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch met with members of a group of Druze reserve army officers and discussed the recruitment of Druze officers to the police, Border Guard and Prison Service forces and the promotion of existing officers. The two also discussed growing violence in Druze villages and a possibility of confiscating weapons in the sector. (Efrat Weiss)
