MK Kara asks US ambassador to examine importing water from Syria
Deputy Regional Development Minister Ayoob Kara met with US Ambassador to Israel James Cunningham and asked him to look into the possibility of sending a water import delegation to the Golan Heights from Syria.
MK Kara said that the water is needed for agricultural purposes on the Golan Heights. He received authorization from Agriculture Minister Simhon to explore the issue. Ambassador Cunningham said that he supports the move, which could warm relations between Syria and Israel and promised to involve his counterpart in Syria. (Roni Sofer)
