Defense Minister opposes granting right to vote to Israelis abroad
Defense Minister Ehud Barak has come out against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's proposal, and said he "strongly opposes giving the right to vote to Israelis who live abroad permanently."
During a discussion at the Defense Ministry, Barak said "Only Israelis who are with us here, who bear the burdens that come with living here, should be allowed to vote." (Attila Somfalvi and Roni Sofer)
