Be'er Sheva Magistrate's Court handed down a sentence of four month's community service and a fine of NIS 2000 ($535) to an Israeli who entered Iran without authorization.
The accused (48), who was born in Iran, flew to Turkey and paid a bribe to get an Iranian ID card in order to sell some property there. He was called for questioning by the Iranian security services and was asked about Israel and IDF. He visited Iran despite being warned by the police that such a visit was forbidden without explicit permission from the prime minister or minister of internal affairs. (Ilana Curiel)
