Judges indicated on Wednesday that they are in favor of freeing a man convicted of assassinating former Iranian Prime Minister Shahpour Bakhtiar outside Paris in 1991, the prisoner's lawyer said.
The fate of Ali Vakili Rad is now in the hands of a Paris court which will decide March 9 whether he can be set free from prison, said his attorney, Sorin Margulis. The lawyer expressed optimism that his client will be expelled to Iran, his homeland. (AP)
