Ahmadinejad: Iran capable of enriching to 80% but chooses not to

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced during a speech at the Tehran main square that his country has produced nuclear fuel enriched to a level of 20% for the first time.
According to Ahmadinejad, the Islamic Republic is capable of enriching uranium to a level of 80%, but it chooses not to. He added that the Western powers began threatening Iran when they realized it was capable of such production. (Dudi Cohen and AFP)
